The African Telecommunications Union (ATU) is organizing the 2nd African Preparatory Meeting for the 2027 World Radiocommunication Conference (WRC-27) dubbed APM27-2. The meeting will take place in Nairobi, Kenya from 11 to 15 August 2025.

The main objective of APM27-2 is to continue the African preparations for WRC-27, building on the process as initiated at APM27-1. Adequate preparations for WRC-27 are crucial as we seek to secure high-value satellite resources and also develop the Direct-to-Device (D2D) technology seen as key in bridging the digital coverage gap. The meeting will also consider implementation statuses of WRC-23, as well as, consider key spectrum matters in Africa.
